Murals in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

I can tell you first-hand about torrential rains and blistering heat in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.  I know what that kind of weather does to murals.  I hate to think about that, but it is a reality of life and outdoor art.  My mural in Playa was also painted outside.

Rains that suddenly came out of nowhere messed up freshly coated paint on multiple occasions.  Between the rain and afternoon heat where I could not paint between the hours of one until four, the project took about a week longer than I expected.  Yes, I know all about the weather in Mexico.

That said, there were a surprising amount of murals throughout the city.  Some were past their prime, thanks to Mother Nature, but some were still simply beautiful.  Most of the artists remain unnamed, or at least unknown to me, but I had to share a little taste of Mexico from an artist's point of view.
