Where in the World is Romania?

Most people arrive in Romania by flying into the airport in Bucharest. It's clean, modern and surrounded by great highways. It's easy to get in and out of the place.  After that, well, traveling in Romania is a different story.  Lots of roads are narrow and winding.  Passing is difficult.  And, the situation is complicated even more by horse drawn carts.

Roads turned to dirt (and mud, lots of it, depending on the time of the year) around the village of Poiana Negostarului where I painted two murals. (You can hopefully understand why I never learned to pronounce the name of the location correctly.)  In that village there were more horse drawn carts than cars.
