France has more visitors each year than the entire population of the country. My guess is that is too many visitors for the airports around Paris to handle. I've never entered the country that way.

The coolest way to enter France is by way of the Chunnel, the high speed train that goes under the English Channel. Very fast. Very cool. But, the entrance to the tunnel is so far inland that you never actually see any water or white cliffs of Dover. However, buy your tickets well in advance or it is outrageously expensive.

On my trip to Aix-en-Provence, I entered France by way of Belgium. Winsor and Newton paint, in Brussels, donated paint for yet another one of my murals. But, I had to go to Belgium to collect it. So, I crossed France on high speed trains to Paris and then on south to Provence. It was the heaviest luggage I've ever had. But, free paint is free paint and it's always so good to know the murals are appreciated enough for free paint. Merci, Winsor and Newton.
