According to my research, Brasil has
over 4000 airports, second only to the United States. I entered
Brasil by way of São Paulo. However, that was only the beginning
of my adventure. Very fortunately for me, Gabriel (a new Brasilian
JAA friend) met me at the airport and escorted me an hour to the next
airport in Campinas. From there, I caught a bus to yet a third
airport that took me on a flight to Londrina. It was a very long
5456 kilometer from Mexico to Brasil.
I spent my time in Brasil away from Rio and São Paulo where almost every tourist goes. There was no Christ the Redeemer statue, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach, or Girl from Ipanema in my Brasilian experience. I headed to the southern state of Paraná and spent my three weeks in small cities, mostly Campo Mourão and Barbosa Ferraz, with a very large family.
